How do I ensure I pass KYC?

Only KYC verified users will be able to sell on the VeVe or StackR marketplaces. To pass KYC, you will complete an ID check (by uploading a picture of your government-issued ID), a selfie check (by looking into your phone/computer camera) and a proof of address check (by uploading a document as proof of address). You will need to have your original ID plus the document you will use for proof of address to complete the process. Note: The most common reason for failing KYC is proof of address issues. We strongly recommend you read this detailed article about proof of address requirements if you are having issues with your proof of address documents.  Depending on your location, you may be given the option to use the "Proof of Address through Geolocation" feature of the KYC process. This feature gives eligible users the option to use their mobile device to provide their location - instead of uploading a proof of address document. If you are not given this option or do not wish to use this feature, you will need to upload a valid proof of address document (see below for guidance on the acceptable documents).  Read below to learn about the most common reasons why the verification fails, and try to avoid these pitfalls.  For all documents used in the process - Poor picture quality - make sure that the whole document is visible and readable, there is no glare on the photo. - Document - make sure that the document is not damaged and it has your signature - Edited photo or screenshot - make sure the photo you uploaded has not been edited with image processing software (Photoshop, etc) and it is not a photo of a photo. - Black & White photo - please make sure that the photo is in colour. - Unsupported file - we accept jpg, jpeg, png, and pdf files The most common other reasons for ID document check failure are: - Wrong document type - make sure that you're uploading and taking pictures of a supported ID document (you will be told which IDs are acceptable when you select your country at the start of the process. - Your document has expired - make sure that the document is valid. The most common reasons for liveness/selfie fails are: - You wore glasses - please remove sunglasses glasses when doing the Liveness check. Normal glasses should be fine if you also wear them in the document photo. - There are other people in the picture - please make sure that only you are in the photo. - Webcam problems - If you have problems with your video or webcam, then please use different hardware, smartphone, tablet, computer, or similar device. - Connection problems - You need to have an internet connection throughout the entire process. When the internet connection fails, please try another connection, maybe the smartphone internet or some other WIFI. - You did not allow browser access to the camera - Your internet browser may ask you to allow our system to access your web camera. You must allow this. The most common reasons for proof of address failure are: - Wrong document type - make sure that you're uploading and taking pictures of a supported document (see here).  - Note: the following are NOT valid as proof of address: - Revolut bank account statements - Wise bank account statements - USAA Federal Savings Bank account statements - Your document is too old - make sure that the document was issued within the last 6 months.

What documents can I use for Proof of Address?

To help ensure KYC acceptance, please read this guide on which documents are acceptable and which are not. Tips to ensure acceptance - The document must contain your full name and home address.  - DO NOT take a screenshot of a mobile/computer screen upload the photo. If you received the document in the mail you should take a photo of it and upload the photo. If you received the document electronically (e.g. PDF statement/bill from your bank or utility services provider) you should upload the file directly.  - DO NOT take a photo of an envelope with your address on it. You must take the document out of the envelope and the document (including all corners of it) must be visible in the photo.  - Proof of Address must be issued within the last 12 months. - You can use your ID document as proof of address, if it contains your home address information. But in this case, you will need to provide another ID document as your proof of identity. You can't use the same document to prove both your address and your identity. - The ID document you use for the ID check can be for a different country than what you use for proof of address. We realize people can live somewhere different to where they were born!  Common Proof of Address examples: - Landline telephone bill; - Cable internet/TV bill (but not from satellite TV companies or for other wireless telecommunication services); - Bank statement with the date of issue and the name of the person (the document must be not older than 12 months); - Utility bill for gas, electricity, water, internet, etc. linked to the property (the document must not be older than 12 months); - Credit card statement issued by a bank; - Excise Bill (also called motor vehicle tax in some countries), Property Taxes (also called Council Property Rates in some countries) - Mortgage statement; - Certificate of voter registration; - Correspondence with a government authority regarding the receipt of benefits such as a pension, unemployment benefits, housing benefits, etc; - A lease agreement that is current and has the signatures of the landlord and the tenant; - Rent bills issued by a real estate rental agency; - Letter from a recognized public authority or public servant (any government-issued correspondence not older than 12 months); - Employer's certificate for PoA; - House purchase deed. Which Documents Don't Count as Proof of Address? - Old government-issued correspondence/documents (older than 12 months); - Old bank statements (older than 12 months); - Old utility bill linked to the property (older than 12 months); - Pension statements; - Revolut bank statements - Wise bank statements - USAA Federal Savings Bank account statements - Insurance policies; - Mobile phone bills; - Medical bills; - Receipts for purchases; - Insurance statements; - Documents stating PO Box addresses (except for some countries). - Tax returns

What is source of wealth/funds and why have I been asked to provide it?

For customers from some countries, we are required to collect the source of your wealth/funds that you will be using to purchase Gems. We need to establish this to ensure the legitimacy of the wealth held/income received by these customers i.e. that is not the product of criminal activity.  Please note the following: - When requested to provide a description of the documents, provide as much information as possible in English about the documents and why it is your source of funds/income. If your source of wealth/income is income from a job/company, please ensure you describe the job and the company you work for.  - If your source of wealth/income is income from a job /company, you need to provide a document which evidences the income from the job e.g. pay slip, bank statement showing your pay, employment contract. -  If your document is a bank statement please ensure the deposits showing your income are highlighted (the deposits must be referenced as 'wages' or 'salary').  - If you are a student you still need to show where your income/financial support comes from. For example, if your income/support is provided by your family you will need to provide a document showing your parents' source of wealth/funds and a document that show your parent's providing you with the financial support. - If you do not currently have a job, you still need to provide a document showing where your funds come from (e.g. a document showing income from a previous job). - If you trade crypto to generate your income, then you need to provide evidence of sufficient transactions/trades to show that this could be your source of income. One transaction is not sufficient. What happens to your VeVe account if you die?

How to specify a beneficiary for your account if you die and how to access a deceased users account if there is no nominated beneficiary. Process to nominate a Beneficiary on your Account By contacting VeVe Support you may nominate a beneficiary to receive any Gems and Collectibles within your Account if you die (Deceased User's Account). This provides for the transfer of a Deceased User's Account to the User's chosen beneficiary in the easiest manner possible. If you wish to nominate a beneficiary (Nominated Beneficiary) or beneficiaries to inherit any Gems, Collectibles, Comics, and OMI within your VeVe Account in the event of death, please contact VeVe Support and provide the full name, date of birth, and current mailing address of the Nominated Beneficiary or Beneficiaries. Please also include a copy of a valid government-issued photo identification of the Nominated Beneficiary or Beneficiaries. Upon the Nominated Beneficiary claiming the account, the Nominated Beneficiary will be required to complete our usual KYC onboarding process to ensure the person claiming the account is the Nominated Beneficiary. You may cancel or change your Nominated Beneficiary at any time prior to your death.  Please be sure to advise your Nominated Beneficiary that you have nominated them as the beneficiary of your Account (and/or provide a note in your relevant estate papers so that your beneficiary will become aware of your VeVe Account) and have obtained their permission for you to upload their personal information. It will be the responsibility of your Nominated Beneficiary to contact us and to request a transfer of the Gems and Collections within your VeVe Account to them following an event of your death. Accessing a Deceased User's Account by the Nominated Beneficiary If the User has nominated you as the Nominated Beneficiary to inherit Gems and Collectibles within a Deceased User's Account, the User will have irrevocably authorized us to transfer the relevant Gems and Collectibles in the Deceased User's Account to you. In order for us to process the transfer of any Gems and Collectibles in the relevant VeVe Account to a Nominated Beneficiary, you as the Nominated Beneficiary will need to complete the following matters with us: 1. Providing us with a copy of the User's Death Certificate (certified as a true copy of the original); and 2. Unless you are an existing User of VeVe, opening a VeVe account and completing KYC. Accessing a Deceased User's Account if a Nominated Beneficiary has not been specified If a User has not selected a Nominated Beneficiary per the above process, we may be able to facilitate the transfer of Gems and Collectibles within the Deceased User's Account to an appropriate Executor or Beneficiary in accordance with the User's Last Will and Testament, Grant of Probate (or equivalent, such as letters of administration) and relevant inheritance laws. In order for us to process the transfer of any Gems and Collectibles in the relevant Deceased User's Account to the User's Estate, the relevant Executor(s) (or one of them if there is more than one) as named in the relevant Grant of Probate (or equivalent, such as letters of administration) will need to complete the following: 1. Provide us with a copy of the User's Last Will and Testament, Grant of Probate (or equivalent, such as letters of administration) (certified as a true copy of the original); 2. Provide us with a copy of the User's Death Certificate (certified as a true copy of the original); and 3. The Executor (or equivalent person) who will have legal authority over the User's estate) as named in the Grant of Probate (or equivalent) will need to complete KYC as if the Executor were opening a new VeVe account for themselves. If there is more than one Executor we may require the other Executors to sign a letter confirming that the Executor has the authority to act on behalf of the other Executors in relation to the User's Account. Once we have reviewed and confirmed these documents, we will advise you the the outcome of the transfer of the Gems and Collectibles within a deceased User's Account to the relevant beneficiary. The above is a guideline and the exact process may differ at our discretion from case to case depending on the particular circumstances of the Deceased User, the Executor(s) and/or Beneficiaries, such as the relevant jurisdictions involved and particular documentation provided.
